Ravioli and...yep, mini mince pie pasties! |
So I've not gone mad, just thought I'd add a twist to the traditionally shaped mince pie...And I got to use a Playdough cutter!
How to...
Make up a batch of sweet shortcrust pastry (half fat to flour, add one egg, 3 tblsp caster sugar, bit of cold water)...Roll out a rectangular sheet, cut in half and spoon out mincemeat into regular blobs. Add top sheet of pastry and press down around the outsides of each blob firmly. Using your pastry cutter (or Playdough cutter) cut out squares and place on baking sheet. Bake until golden.
For a pastie mince pie...cut out circles with a large glass, add a blob of mincemeat, fold in half and squeeze sides together. Cook as above.
Dust with icing sugar...leave one for Rudolph.
