So it was the hottest day of the year for us in Blighty -and we thought it was a cracking idea to spend the day in an Essex field with no breeze?! The Brent Pelham country fair was actually far better than initially expected -I'm a sucker for miniature steam engines (dork I know, but love the coal smell), I find the gun dog and duck herding demonstrations hysterical (If I'm honest it's the husband and wife style commentary) and you just can't argue with a tea tent and ice cream van. Good natured, always well intentioned and taken a tad-too seriously by some, there's only another fortnight of the summer holidays left, so find out a country show and rock up. x
